Why Motif?
A motif is a design or pattern. Motif comes from the Medieval Latin word “motivus,” which means moving or impelling. When you work with Motif, you can be sure that the communications plans and recommendations we provide are intentional and are built to best amplify and inform your key messages and goals. Your communications program should drive employee engagement and encourage behaviors that support your goals.
Meet Mary Gibson
Motifs are everywhere. Sometimes they are easy to spot, and sometimes you miss even the most obvious patterns. I believe that our lives have motifs, and that everything I have done in my career (and in my personal life) until now has led me to establish Motif Communications.
Working in marketing and communications roles for more than 20 years, I’ve had a front row seat for, and sometimes an active part in, some of the most interesting business trends, developments, triumphs, and disgraces. I’ve worked with inspiring leaders, with maligned leaders, and with unsung heroes who have more impact than they will ever get credit for.
I have successfully led communications teams for a variety of companies in different industries, and found my passion as an employee communications leader. My strength is in building programs and the teams to support them for B2B companies — something I have successfully done as an employee for GE, Honeywell, Cox Automotive, and SWM International.
Now I’m ready to focus on building employee communications programs as a consultant – developing creative solutions for your organization that are designed to help you meet your business goals, increase employee engagement and satisfaction, and harness the strength of your greatest asset: your employees.
